Even though food can be a source of great pleasure, diet culture creates pervasive feelings of guilt and shame. My training in intuitive eating has taught me how to help my clients make peace with food and their bodies.
Virginia Watkins, certified Nutrition Educator and Intuitive Eating Coach, is currently completing her graduate studies in counseling psychology at the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. Since graduating from Duke University, she moved to the San Francisco Bay Area and worked for several leading natural food companies. Eventually, Virginia knew her work in food needed to be more personal. She has spent nine years as a certified nutrition educator to moms and families during the perinatal period and led the nutrition workshops for Kaiser Permanente’s Employee Wellness Program.
Virginia’s non-diet approach is fueled by her own past experience with disordered eating and the evidence that intuitive eating contains the best tools to support her clients’ overall health. Virginia is also the mom of two boys, ages 17 and 15.
